Overview
What I Do
I have been developing multimedia, 3d models and for the web for over ten years now, and continue to have a strong drive to develop and stay creative on a daily basis. By profession, I am an experienced Interactive Designer and Developer; over the past years, I have worked as everything from a new media developer to web designer, from 3d modeler to software programmer, from front end interface designer to GUI developer, while maintaining a strong interest in keeping up with changing technology.
I love to work with website development and Flash, and am now somewhat of an Actionscript 3 expert; I have a very strong background in Flash and can build anything utilizing Flash, Actionscript 3 and xml that needs to be built, from data displays to complex animations and motion graphics, from user interfaces to gaming systems, from full web sites to web applications. Starting with Flash 5 in 2000, I have evolved with the changes to Flash throughout the last decade from Macromedia to Adobe and have employed AS1, AS2, and AS3 within my work. I have used the Flash 5 IDE through MX, 8, and CS3 through CS5. On the graphics side, I am well versed with the entire Adobe Creative suite; writing html and css is a fluent process for me, I can splice and dice anything, as well as design simple logos to complex graphic solutions.
On the 3d modeling side, I am well versed with 3D Studio Max and all facets of 3d modeling paradigms, from optimizing mesh to unwrapping textures, from detailed modeling to complex system development, from automation using MaxScript to producing simulations utilizing the Havok Physics Engine. I have used 3DS Max in the past to render graphic enhancements for websites by developing 3d graphics and interface elements, 3d models and virtual layouts, and various sets of content. I also have a vast knowledge of developing models for game engines while fully understanding how to optimize the mesh to the lowest polygon level while retaining all necessary detail. I also have a knack for texturing; using the UVW Unwrap tools, I can unwrap the texture of any model and manipulate the texture using the Adobe Creative Suite before re-applying the texture to the model in the gaming environment. I have also produced award winning 3D presentations for FKI Logistex and Intellligrated, prototyping massive logistics system designs for use as project acquisition presentations. Although my tool of choice is 3D Studio Max, I can adapt to any 3d modeling environment.
I have a strong background working within augmented reality/virtual reality platforms; starting to work with Macromedia Director 8.5(obsolete nowadays) in 2003, I produced several training simulations utilizing 3D Studio Max and Lingo(Director's scripting language) and the Havok Physics Engine based around the idea of forklift operation from the first person perspective. In 2004, I began to explore the use of Second Life(and later OpenSim) and the LSL scripting language to produce simulation environments for my job (result: environment not even close to robust enough for real world results). I evolved from the 2004 experience on my own and have built dozens of models within the SL/OpenSim environment while working with and exploring the use of the LSL scripting language.I also have experience developing with the UDK(Unreal Development Kit) environment and am quite familiar with the capabilities of Unity.

I have thrived within various cultures during my career; Logilearn, my first job in Baltimore back in 2000, was a small Danish company; 12 people. We had a full cantina in our office, a free gym membership, a pool table, happy hour on Fridays, students from the Baltimore Culinary Institute cooked us lunch everyday, we traveled to Denmark together from time to time for business and pleasure, it was like a small family. FKI Logistex and Intelligrated were massive corporate conglomerates, but I thrived there as well, for 5+ years. My most recent job has been smaller in nature, 8 - 10 people; this latest work experience has taught me that I prefer small companies, but I can thrive within any work environment.
On the side, I'm still an artist; I graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1998 and continues on that path, painting and producing electronic music in my basement studio - I tend to bring my creative insights from current personal works into thought processes within the workplace, and vs. versa.
